Our Story

Nenon was founded in 1940 when a group of girls came together at a sleepover and decided to create something of their own. What started as a small group quickly grew into a strong sisterhood built on community service and lasting friendships. Over the years, thousands of girls have been part of Nenon, and its impact has gone far beyond high school. With traditions that are still carried on today and a large network of alumni throughout the Florence area, Nenon continues to connect generations of girls through sisterhood and service.

  • When I look back over the past 3 years and Nenon, I realize how much my sisters and I have grown. We started as 24 sophomore new members and grew into confident seniors and officers. Along the way we have grown closer to eachother and come to appreciate each sister. Enjoy every Nenon event and meeting because soon they will be gone. I will always cherish my Nenon memories and sisters.

Monthly Meetings with food galore

Spending time with girls you adore

Getting a fine for being late

Trying to figure out who’d be your lead out date 

Rush parties, crush parties, and banquets too 

Voting on the next group of girls wearing baby blue

Some of these moments seem rather small

But it’s the little things you’ll remember most of all   

As you put away the owls and your senior year comes to an end          Remember… with Nenon sisters, you’ve made lifelong friends
